Michael Sorrentino (born July 4, 1982), publicly known by his nickname The Situation (a reference to his six pack), is an American television personality who appeared on the MTV reality show Jersey Shore starting in 2009. He was born in Staten Island, New York but moved to New Jersey before his teenage years and considers himself partly from New Jersey[1]. Prior to being a castmate on Jersey Shore, Sorrentino worked as an assistant manager of a fitness center in Staten Island.[2]
